A Defendant Medical Examination is an examination or assessment by an expert of your (the injured party’s) mental or physical condition. The Defendant’s lawyer will choose the health care professional or professionals who will provide expert reports on your health. The Defendant’s lawyer is usually appointed by the defendant’s insurance company.
You, the injured party, also have a right to retain health care professionals to act on your behalf as experts. Experienced personal injury lawyers, like myself, will have a team of personal injury experts, including medical experts, we can use to examine you and help prove your Claim. For each expert we retain, the defendant can retain a similar expert.
